كانت هذه الأمسية شيقة، حيث اننى لم أتوقع حضور عدد لا بأس به من الجمهور الذى لايعرفنى ولا أعرفه، جمهور أكثره مثل أهلى وأهلك، لم يجدوا الفرصة للتعمق فى الفنون، يملئهم الفضول لتفهم ماذا أعنى بكونى "مؤلفة موسيقية". أستمتعت بالتحاور معهم، وأظنهم أستمتعوا بالاستماع إلى مؤلفاتى، ولكن هل يا ترى توصلوا إلى فهم ما معنى أن تكون المرأة ممتهنة للتأليف الموسيقى؟ أظن أن كل الموسيقيين والموسيقيات عليهم أن يبذلوا المزيد من الجهد للتعريف بالتأليف الموسيقى وخصوصاً ذلك النوع المنتمى للثقافة الكتابية، عندما يكون المؤلف مدققاً منقحاً لكتاباته.......وللحديث بقية.

This was a very interesting evening that happened almost two years ago at the culture wheel center, Zamalek, Cairo. I did not expect such number of audience as I am a total stranger to them. Most of them were just like the normal middle-class Egyptian family; my family! All had this curiosity to comprehend the meaning of being a woman composer. I did enjoy talking to them, and I think they enjoyed listening to my compositions. One question still rings in my ear, though; were they able to reach an answer for being a professional composer and a woman? I do believe that all of us the musicians of Egypt, should put more effort to introduce to the wide strata of Egyptian the meaning of composition as part of literate culture, as the composer then has to be thoughtful about what s/he writes, plans it, sketches it, modifies it and structures it carefully………..and the talk will be continued later.
